The Mahogany Workplace "What Men Want in the Bathroom"

What Men Really Want in the Bathroom

Skincare and hair products are complicated enough. Add a couple men who want simple ingredients and visible results and we’ve got a lot of cooks in the kitchen… er, bathroom. You’re guaranteed to spot these tried-and-true products if you enter the MW contributors’ bathrooms (But do you really want to do that?). We’ll spare you the trip. Here are the guys’ favorite beauty products.

Note: No one is paying us to write these things. (Although, after reading this, Kiehl’s should give us a call…)

My favorite body product is Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion. It not only gives me this tingly, clean feeling but it also has SPF, so it protects my skin from the sun. I use this daily. Any time I forget to use it I just feel naked.  — Ben

I don’t suffer from chronic dry skin, but if I feel dry, a little coconut oil goes a long way. It’s not as greasy as lotion and actually moisturizes my skin as opposed to a water-based lotion that ends up drying my skin more later on.  — Brandon

I use Smooth Viking Pomade on my Hair. It holds everything in place, but it isn’t too shimmery.  — Jordan

Kiehl’s Facial Lotion makes my skin feel so good it’s like getting an entirely new face.  — Riley

My favorite all-purpose product is coconut oil. Not only does it remind me of the beach, but it can be used as a moisturizer and beard product. It’s versatile and inexpensive.  — Mitch

My mother’s homemade soap is incredible, and I know it was made with love from natural ingredients. She uses coconut oil as the base and essential oils provide the scent. My favorite is the lavender-infused soap with oats for exfoliation. Handmade quality goods we’re talking here.  — Dylan

The verdict: It seems like all men really want is a quality cleanser and some coconut oil.

Do you (or your S.O.) have a go-to skincare product you can’t live without?
